In the world of theatre, a compelling poster is often the first glimpse an audience gets of a production. A well-designed poster not only attracts attention but also encapsulates the mood, themes, and spirit of the play. Recently, OTS have designed four upcoming theatre play productions and have unveiled their striking posters, each uniquely crafted to reflect the essence of their respective shows.

Bigger Fish – Dives Into the Dark Waters of 1960s London

Written by Clive David Lloyd Williams, poster design by Jo Goodberry at Off The Shelf

The world of postwar London’s criminal elite is cracking open on stage in Bigger Fish, a gritty new one act play from playwright Clive David Lloyd Williams. Inspired by real-life events and figures, the play delves into the tense years following the infamous 1963 Great Train Robbery, as one determined detective begins to close in on Britain’s most feared underworld figures: the Kray twins.

Told with a lean, no-frills style, Bigger Fish uses minimal staging and fast-paced dialogue to plunge the audience into a shadowy world of surveillance, suspicion, and shifting loyalties. At the heart of the play is Detective Leonard “Nipper” Read, whose relentless pursuit of justice—first for the train robbers, then for the Krays—forms the spine of this taut drama.

Complementing the play’s stark tone and historical resonance is a striking poster design by Jo Goodberry ofOff The Shelf. Evocative and bold, the artwork captures the tension of the story while subtly hinting at its psychological depth—an ideal visual preview of the power struggles and moral ambiguity that drive the narrative.

“Really enjoyed working with Jo, very thoughtful, creative & patient.” Clive David Lloyd Williams, Playwright
